FAQ
What is MCP?
Model Context Protocol, an open standard for connecting AI assistants to other systems. Switchboard runs an MCP server; Claude connects to it and can then look up your data directly, with your permission, instead of working from pasted exports.
Who on the team can use it?
Anyone with a Switchboard login. Each person connects with their own account, so every connection traces to a real user, and removing someone's login removes their access.
Does it work with tools besides Claude?
MCP is an open standard, so any MCP-compatible tool can connect. Claude is the one we support and test against today, on the web and in Claude Desktop.
Do we need Switchboard for this to be useful?
